Ah, some days create such amazing memories for our residents and care staff that we just want to relive them over and over again!
A recent trip to the seaside town of Whitby with Justice Prince was precisely that and created memories residents at West Farm will treasure for a lifetime.
The visit was organised by Justice Prince, a Longbenton charity that supports the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people in the local community through active engagement and involvement, who invited West Farm along to enjoy a sunshine day out with them.
Sarah Avery, our Wellbeing Champion at West Farm, said: “We had an absolutely fantastic day, filling our bellies with some gorgeous fish and chips and enjoying one another’s company in the idyllic and picturesque town of Whitby. Residents smiled, laughed and swapped tales all day long, it was truly perfect.”
Everyone enjoyed a stroll around the town, perusing the shops and other local amenities. The weather was thankfully on our side too.
Sarah added: “Many of our residents are living with dementia and, as part of their care, it’s crucial that we help create new memories that they can share with other residents, carers and their loved ones. Whitby’s trip certainly did this and a complete stranger even bought us all some delicious ice cream in an unforgettable act of kindness. Huge thanks to Justice Prince for organising the trip.”
