Residents from West Farm Care Centre enjoyed a truly enchanting day out this December as they travelled into Newcastle to visit the iconic Fenwick Christmas Window. This year’s theme, A Christmas Carol, brought Charles Dickens’ timeless story to life in a spectacular display that captivated residents and staff alike.
The annual Fenwick Window has long been a cherished North East tradition, and for many of our residents, it holds fond memories from years gone by. As the group arrived in Newcastle, the excitement was clear. For some, it was a chance to revisit a beloved festive outing, while for others, it was their first time experiencing the magic of the display.
The window itself was breath taking. Each scene from A Christmas Carol was beautifully crafted, featuring intricate details, moving elements, and vibrant storytelling. Residents took their time exploring each part of the display, pointing out familiar characters like Scrooge, Tiny Tim, and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come. The craftsmanship sparked conversations about favourite Christmas stories, family traditions, and memories of festive seasons long ago.
After enjoying the window, the group took a leisurely stroll through the Christmas market, soaking in the Christmas lights and festive atmosphere.
Trips like this are incredibly important to us at Craig Healthcare. They offer residents the opportunity to stay connected with the wider community, enjoy meaningful experiences, and create new memories.
