Residents from West Farm Home have been soaking up the summer sunshine with a series of delightful day trips to some of Northumberland’s most scenic coastal gems including Blyth, Druridge Bay, Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, and Amble. These outings have brought fresh air, laughter, and plenty of fish and chips!
Each destination offered its own charm. In Blyth, residents enjoyed gentle strolls along the promenade, watching the boats bob in the harbour and feeling the sea breeze on their faces. Druridge Bay’s sweeping sands and tranquil nature reserve provided a peaceful escape, perfect for spotting wildlife and enjoying a quiet moment by the dunes.
Newbiggin-by-the-Sea brought a touch of nostalgia, with its iconic Couple sculpture standing proudly in the bay. Residents wandered along the beach, collecting shells and chatting with locals, before settling down for a classic seaside treat of delicious fish and chips.
Residents also explored the quaint harbour in Amble, browsed the local market stalls, and watched out for puffins and seals. The joy of being near the water, hearing the waves, and sharing stories makes each trip truly special.
