West Farm residents enjoyed a wonderful trip to their local library this week which was very enriching!
Library visits are one of our favourite ways to spend an afternoon as they provide more than just mental stimulation; the visits really do nurture the residents’ emotional wellbeing. On this visit, engaging with books and participating in library activities raided their spirits and the joy and enthusiasm on their faces were unmistakable as they turned the pages, delving into captivating narratives.
Library visits also fosters a strong sense of community among our residents. Engaging in group discussions, recommending books to one another, and sharing their thoughts on different genres created a vibrant atmosphere of camaraderie during the visit. The social connections forged not only made residents feel relaxed and content but also instilled a deep sense of belonging and purpose.
Our West Farm manager Zahra Karimi said: “Visiting a local library opens doors to a world of knowledge, imagination, and social interaction for our residents. It offers an opportunity to explore literary treasures, engage in stimulating conversations, and connect with their community. These visits encourage residents to reminisce, share stories, and discuss their favourite books, sparking conversations that can ignite a sense of belonging and purpose. It was a very rewarding afternoon and residents are already looking forward to their next visit.”
