VE Day might have been a lot colder this year (who can remember that glorious sunshine last May?!) but residents still fully engaged with the occasion, helping to prepare some delicious cream scones which went down lovely with a cup of tea!
It was a fabulous day and the residents thoroughly enjoyed our celebrations of a loving tea party, quiz and VE day inspired singalong.
Kim Stubbs, our activities manager at Cramlington House, said: “VE day is an important occasion for many of our residents who have vivid and fond memories of living through wartime. Discussing and exploring best memories is a key aspect of individual resident’s care, especially for those living with dementia. We all had a wonderful time, and the singalong was fantastic. The day created new memories too which is also a really important thing to do for our residents.
“We put on a wonderful VE day inspired spread too so we all enjoyed some lovely food, a great laugh a minute quiz and the singalong finale. Thank you to all of the staff and residents for the huge efforts they made in making sure we celebrated VE Day in style. It was a truly enjoyable day!”
