It was wonderful to welcome one of our favourite singers to Holywell House recently. Alfie X joined us and serenaded residents to an array of romantic songs from the 1950s and 1960s. In celebration of Saint Valentine, residents reminisced about songs of the best and enjoyed more modern-day songs too.
Our managing director, Lucy Craig, said: “Live performances provide great benefits to residents, having a big impact on their emotional and social wellbeing. Alfie is very popular among our residents and they really enjoy his singing and the rapport he has with them. There was lots of singing along, smiles and laughter and it was great to see how engaged the residents were. They interacted so much and talked about the performance for hours afterwards. We are already looking forward to the next one!”
At Craig Healthcare, we organise regular live performances from local singers as they create such positive social experiences for residents as well as creative engagement and fun for residents. It plays a big role in nurturing resident wellbeing and creates a happy and secure environment where residents feel relaxed and content.
