The Olympic Games left Tokyo and came to our Cramlington House home recently and what a day it was!
Staff organised a whole day of fun and games with residents participating in a number of activities, designed to have a positive impact on their physical and mental wellbeing. From archery and shot put to gymnastics and a new sport that we introduced, hula hooping, residents along with their carers had a wonderful time.
Kim Stubbs, our activities manager at Cramlington House, said: “We had such an enjoyable afternoon, and it was great to see residents so engaged in the activities. Not only did such a session get residents moving and active, but it was also great for their cognitive development too, the interaction, the socialization, the use of their concentration and organisational skills. Residents really enjoyed trying out all the different types of sports we put on. The hula hoop activity and gymnastics ribbon display were especially wonderful! And got such a great reaction from all involved.”
