The Equal Arts Team Enjoyed a Flower Arranging Class

There was a wonderful sense of calm and creativity throughout West Farm Care Home as the Equal Arts team joined residents for a delightful flower arranging class. The session brought together colour, fragrance and gentle conversation, creating a relaxing environment where everyone could take part at their own pace and enjoy the simple pleasure of working with fresh flowers.

Tables were carefully prepared with a beautiful selection of seasonal blooms, greenery and decorative touches. Residents were encouraged to choose their favourite flowers, think about colours and textures, and create arrangements that reflected their own personal style. With guidance and encouragement from the Equal Arts team, even those who had never arranged flowers before quickly found confidence and enjoyment in the activity.

Some residents chose bright, cheerful colours to create vibrant displays, while others preferred softer tones for a more delicate arrangement. Each piece was unique, telling its own story and reflecting the personality of its creator. The process itself was just as important as the finished result, offering a chance to relax, express creativity and connect with others.

The Equal Arts team played an important role in ensuring everyone felt included and supported. Their gentle approach encouraged participation from all, adapting the session so that each resident could engage in a way that felt comfortable and enjoyable. It was clear that the focus was not on perfection, but on experience, wellbeing and shared enjoyment.

By the end of the session, the room was filled with beautiful arrangements, each one proudly displayed. Residents took great pleasure in admiring their work and that of others, with many choosing to place their creations in their rooms or communal spaces to brighten the home.

The flower arranging class was a truly uplifting experience, bringing creativity, relaxation and companionship together in a meaningful way.
