Often, we worry about the family member or friend who has moved into a care home, not those who remain in their familiar environment. However, once a resident joins us and becomes settled in, we sometimes find that close relatives and friends outside of the home are struggling to adjust to the absence of their husband, sister or mother in their everyday lives.
We feel this is more of a common occurrence than most people would think which is why we’ve decided to create a Friends of Cramlington House Support Group for those who feel they’re struggling to adapt to life now their close companion is living with us.
The group invites people to join us once a week for a cuppa and a friendly chat, with the aim of helping to establish new friendships and companionship outside of Cramlington House. We hope it’ll provide a good opportunity for resident’s family and friends to meet new people and we look forward to welcoming new faces each week!
The first meeting is on Wednesday 20th June, please contact Emma Jones for more info on 01670 591 930 or emma@cramlington-house.co.uk
