Rain, rain, rain might be forecast but residents at West Farm have thoroughly enjoyed the sunshine this week; spending lots of time in the garden, relaxing and soaking up the holiday weather.
The sun definitely had his hat on so we made the most of it and put on a fabulous barbeque party spread for residents including a range of delicious summer time food such as burgers, salad, chicken skewers, sausages and even corn on the cob.
Getting out in the garden is not just good for residents’ daily dose of vitamin D; the fresh air and pleasant weather also helps to lift spirits, bring smiles to faces and helps them to remained relaxed through a very unsettling and unusual period.
Zahra Karimi, our deputy manager at West Farm, said: “The sun was extra hot this week, so we ensured everyone had their sun hat on and sat in the shade to keep sun safe. Residents really enjoyed the party, especially the burgers! Although they’re still not able to see their loved ones in person, it’s been great to get in the garden and enjoy the summer sun. There was lots of chatter and relaxed moods and the al fresco lunch is definitely something we’ll do again in the coming weeks, weather permitting!
