Residents at Holywell House had a great time celebrating St George’s Day last week, with decorations and cake making galore!
They got involved in decorating the home in honour of England’s patron saint, St, George as well as making some delicious cupcakes to mark the occasion which also happens to be a firm favourite among residents in terms of activities they love doing.
Ashley White, our manager at Holywell House, said: “Cake making is such an enjoyable and engaging activity for our residents. Not only does it encourage interaction and socialising with others, but it also exercises fine motor skills which are essential for living as independently as possible as well as providing mental stimulation because it requires concentration and focus.
“The cupcakes went down lovely with a cuppa in the afternoon and provided the perfect tonic for some relaxation following a morning of baking.”
We’re already looking forward to our next baking session!
