We’ve told you lots about Smurf the blind Shetland pony who often visits our residents, bringing smiles and happiness to them.
Following his recent appearance on none other than the BBC News, he’s now won a national award! Smurf was crowned Horse and Hound Pony of the Year 2019 at last night’s award ceremony and we couldn’t be happier!
Margaret Hayes, a resident at Cramlington House, said: “Smurf is such an important part of our lives; we look forward to seeing him so much. He makes us smile and feel so content; he really is the giver of love. It’s amazing to hear that he’s won a national award, I’ll be sure to congratulate him when Lisa (Smurf’s owner) next brings him in.”
Well done Smurf! We wonder what 2020 has in store for him?!
