Our residents at West Farm recently enjoyed an extra special festive party hosted by dementia care charity
Silverline Memories. Silverline Memories is a North East charity that supports people, and their loved ones, living with dementia, across the region. It organises events and plans trips and activities to provide social engagement opportunities for dementia sufferers.
Residents were treated to a delightful Christmas meal, great music and some fab games; it really was a truly unforgettable magical Christmas party!
Sarah Jane Avery, our wellbeing champion at West Farm, said: “We were completely overwhelmed with the efforts made by Silverline Memories who provided such an amazing party for residents and their families.
“The food and entertainment really was second to none and residents were highly engaged throughout, enjoying their festive fun, some Christmas classics and even participating in a dance or two as well.
“The ethos of Silverline Memories is very similar to the Craig Healthcare ethos; dementia shouldn’t be feared but rather embraced. With the right approach and right care, those living with dementia can lead happy, healthy and fulfilling lives.”
Silverline Memories was founded in December 2013 by Sandra Hastings and the charity aims to facilitate 20 social opportunities each month for those living with dementia.
Sarah Jane added: “We just wanted to say an extra special thanks to Silverline Memories’ staff and volunteers who were incredible with our residents and made the event super special.
“We really were blown away by their kindness; what a very special Christmas our residents will have this year; thank you very much!”
