We arranged a movie night for the residents of West Farm on Saturday night and what a night it was!
Staff worked extra hard to ensure it resembled a real night of visiting the cinema, with residents ‘buying’ tickets and taking their seats in the ‘auditorium’ (i.e. the dining room).
Residents and their carers enjoyed watching alongside some perfect cinema treats prepared by our kitchen team which included some popcorn, drinks and nachos.
Our West Farm deputy manager Zahra Karimi said: “The movie night was a huge success with residents going to bed wearing big smiles and thanking us for organising the evening. Watching a classic from an era they’re all so familiar with really helps them to reconnect with old memories and also create new ones.”
Ken Mears, a resident at West Farm, said: “What a great night I had. I love GI Blues it’s a brilliant film and I remember going to the cinema to watch it when it first came out when I was a young lad. I really enjoyed the picture house experience and looking forward to the next one.”
