We are delighted to tell you that our SafeTime Pods have arrived and been installed at both Cramlington House and West Farm! We really couldn’t be happier.
The pods enable COVID-secure visits for family and friends who haven’t seen their loved ones for such a long time.
We realise the pods don’t replace being able to hug and kiss your nearest and dearest but this is the closest thing we have to normality at the moment and we really want you to make full use of the pods.
Made lovingly by The SafeTime Project, a new not-for-profit start-up company, the pods enable families to enjoy face-to-face visits seated in a secure SafeTime pod, speaking through a hands-free intercom, whilst the resident sits safely in the comfort of Cramlington House or West Farm.
Lucy Craig, our Managing Director, said: “It’s probably one of the biggest and most worthwhile investments we’ve made for the continued care of our residents and their families.
“From the visits that have taken place so far, the experience for all involved has been priceless. The laughter, the smiles, the tears and the love that we’ve seen and felt has been absolutely amazing.
“Our residents and their loved ones mean the world to us and together we will get through this horrific period in time. As Covid-19 restrictions are set to become even tighter, at least we can take some comfort that our pods, which are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised after each session, can be used for daily visits for the foreseeable future.
Ron Bryden, the son of resident Ron at West Farm said: “These safe pods are incredible. I haven’t been able to see my dad for several months so today really has been very special for us both.
“At the end of the visit, I could see just how much he benefited from it and although I wasn’t able to hug him, just being able to see him in person and enjoy a relaxed chat with him was lovely, creating very precious memories for us.”
