Residents visit Killingworth shopping centre

 

Cramlington House residents recently enjoyed a great day out to Killingworth Shopping Centre. The occasion wasn’t just about a bit of shopping but more about creating memories, being involved in local community life and enhancing the wellbeing of residents.

The adventure began with booking a minibus, ensuring that everyone could join in on the fun. The residents, accompanied by family members and staff, set off for a day of exploration and enjoyment. At the shopping centre, the group gathered for a coffee, a perfect start to the day that allowed everyone to relax and chat in a welcoming environment.

Kim Stubbs, our wellbeing champion at Cramlington House, said: “One of the highlights of the trip was the freedom it gave our residents. They could explore the shops at their own pace, discovering new items and enjoying the bustling atmosphere of the shopping centre. Outings like these are incredibly beneficial for our residents and provide an essential break from routine, offering them a chance to experience new environments, engage socially and create lasting memories. Importantly, these outings allow family members to take part, strengthening family ties and creating shared experiences that everyone can remember.”
