One of the highlights of our festive activities definitely had to be this year’s pantomime at Cramlington House! Residents were treated to ‘A Christmas Carol’ and what a fantastic afternoon everyone had joining in.
Provided by the wonderful Northeast Producers Travelling Theatre Company, the performance was excellent, and the entire cast ensured residents were involved, interacted and enjoyed the show.
Talking about the show, our Wellbeing Champion at Cramlington House, Kim Stubbs, said: “It was such a great experience for our residents who really enjoyed the performance, which had a comedy element to it that greatly encouraged the residents to interact and be a part of the show – there was a lot of laughter and fun enjoyed! The two cast members were particularly fantastic and even those residents with reduced attention were fully engrossed throughout the entire performance. We can’t thank the Northeast Producers Travelling Theatre Company enough as they really made the pantomime relevant to the residents and also sang carols during the show. I think their passion to create enjoyment and happiness was clear when one of the performers had tears in their eyes when the residents joined in to sing Silent Night!”.
We’re looking forward to welcoming more in-house pantomimes in 2019 given how responsive residents were to this one so please watch this space for more information on what we have planned.
