The ladies at Cramlington House often enjoy a good old pamper session every other Friday where they get to choose therapies of their choice and given the red-carpet treatment!
Whether it’s getting their hair done, their feet massaged, or getting their nails done, Angela and Kim from our care team ensure a small group of residents each Friday morning are treated to the ultimate pamper experience.
Angela Heighton, a care assistant at Cramlington House, said: “It’s not every day that you’ll come across a care home that has its own hairdressing salon complete with a pamper station so it really is wonderful to be able to offer this at Cramlington House.
“Every Friday morning, we ensure a small group of residents are treated to getting their hair done, or nails, and we find the effects hugely beneficial to their overall wellbeing.
“During the pamper session, residents natter among themselves and following it are visibly upbeat and relaxed for the rest of the day, ready to spend time with their loved ones who often visit over the weekend. It really is a fab way to start the weekend!”
The pamper session helps to boost overall wellbeing and it’s really nice to see how much the residents enjoy it and see their confidence and general happiness levels increase following a pamper session.
Olivia Harper, one of our residents who took part in last Friday’s pamper activity, said: “I used to get my hair and nails done every Friday when I was younger so I love to do this; it reminds me of my life when I was younger and makes me realise how, no matter how old you get, you don’t change. I always loved fresh hair and nails on a Friday and I always will!
“I enjoy catching up with the others too while we relax in the salon and enjoy the treatments given to us.”
