We hope you’ve had a wonderful festive break and are easing your way into 2019!
Although many people slow down and switch off during the Christmas and New Year season, the care sector works harder than ever, especially those who provide residential and dementia care like ourselves.
It’s important that we celebrate the festive season sensitively, in a way that meets the needs of all of our residents. We have some residents that like to get really involved in Christmas and New Year activities, enjoying the live entertainment we organise and the fun and games we provide. On the other hand, some residents prefer a quieter and more peaceful Christmas, spending time alone or with one or two relatives.
Whatever their needs, we ensured that each resident enjoyed themselves at such a special time of year. Some residents visited their families for the day to enjoy Christmas lunch and quality family time, some stayed with us to eat and also take part in some festive games and lots of smiles and laughter.
Our new year celebrations were also good fun with Cramlington House seeing in 2019 with music, songs and dancing. Residents enjoyed a small tipple, and some song and dance provided by North East performers Ray and Dave and Al Johnson, getting the new year off to a happy and positive start!
Overall, both homes enjoyed a wonderful Christmas and New Year break, and this was down to our amazing and dedicated staff who gave up their own family time during the festive season to work during the period, ensuring all residents were happy, relaxed and enjoyed the celebrations in a way they wanted to. Thank you to each and every member of our team who go that extra mile every day to ensure the best care for residents, whether it’s Christmas Day, New Year’s Day or any other day. Here’s to a cracking 2019
