We’re getting very excited about Easter at Craig Healthcare!
Residents have been very busy this week with lots of Easter related activities including Spring decorations making, baking and Easter card making.
These activities are great for residents to be involved in because not only do residents find them enjoyable and relaxing, but they fully engage too and concentrate on the task in hand. Baking and making cards are also excellent activities for maintaining fine motor skills which are vital for living as independently as possible. For example, these are the skills that enable us to tie our shoelaces or do up buttons on a shirt.
Donna Sarin, our manager at Holywell House, said: “It’s been wonderful weather this week so we’ve also enjoyed a lot time outdoors on our gorgeous patio.
“The residents have also loved baking some delicious chocolate crispy Easter cakes too as well as making a range of other decorations.
“With relative visits still limited, we’ve been making some lovely Easter cards and decorated them so carefully to give to loved ones. It’s been lovely to see the concentration faces and then wonderful smiles once the crafts have been beautifully completed. We have had such a fun week!”
