Cramlington House residents were recently ‘all shook up’ in the best way possible, thanks to a toe-tapping performance by a local Elvis impersonator.
The King’s greatest hits echoed through the halls, bringing smiles, laughter, and an unmistakable buzz of excitement among the residents.
The lively show had everyone tapping their feet and singing along to the nostalgic melodies of “Hound Dog,” “Jailhouse Rock,” and “Can’t Help Falling in Love.”
The benefits of such live entertainment really are profound; it’s not just about the fun. Engaging in music and the familiarity of well known tunes has been shown to improve the wellbeing of our residents, boosting their mental health and overall quality of life. The interactive experience of a live performance also encourages social interaction and stimulates cognitive health.
Activities Coordinator Kim Stubbs said: “Seeing our residents so vibrant and engaged is heartwarming. It’s moments like these that truly enrich their lives. The power of music, especially live music, to uplift spirits and bring back memories is absolutely magical. Sometimes music really is the best medicine.”
