Both homes celebrated the Alzheimer’s Society National Cupcake Day and what a great day it was! National Cupcake Day is aimed to raise awareness and funds in the fight against dementia and we managed to raise £180 in total!
Residents baked a wide range of delicious cake related treats and got involved in a range of art and crafts activities on the day too which included cupcake decorating and making cards and crafts.
Both homes also held a coffee morning where family, friends and members of the local community were invited to attend and enjoy a cuppa with a delicious homemade cake or two, of which all proceeds went to The Alzheimer’s Society.
Sarah Avery, our Wellbeing Champion at West Farm, said: “We had a wonderful day celebrating Cupcake Day raising awareness and money for a cause very close to our hearts and minds. Some amazing cakes were baked and decorated, and it was lovely to see so many family members of residents come along to our coffee morning, enjoying our baked treats as well as some quality time with residents. Well done to everyone who got involved to raise much needed funds.”
