Residents from Cramlington House recently enjoyed a delightful visit to their local Wetherspoons, where they joined the Knit and Natter group to admire the beautiful handiwork created by fellow knitters. Over cups of tea and coffee, the residents shared stories, laughter and tips on their knitting projects.
Knit and Natter sessions provide invaluable benefits, particularly for older adults. These gatherings encourage social interaction, combat loneliness and promote mental wellbeing. The simple act of knitting also helps improve fine motor skills and cognitive function, making it an excellent activity for older people.
Kim Stubbs, our Wellbeing Champion at Cramlington House, said, “It was wonderful for the residents to spend time with new friends while enjoying a cuppa. These sessions are a great way for residents to connect and share their love for knitting.
