As Santa couldn’t visit this Christmas, his trusty elves (i.e. Cramlington House’s team of carers) were on hand to deliver presents on his behalf.
We asked family members who are sadly unable to visit their loved ones in person at the moment to drop off their presents so that we could deliver them in a very festive and magical way.
Kim Stubbs, our activities manager at Cramlington House, said: “It was so lovely to get dressed up and get everyone in the festive spirit despite the current pandemic and the tough time everyone is having not being able to see one another, especially at Christmas.
“The residents thoroughly enjoyed the way we delivered their gifts, and it was great to see the reactions on their faces when they opened them. Seeing them smile, laugh and express happy emotions is so important to us right now.
“It’s been a really difficult year, but we are determined to keep going for the health and happiness of our residents. One day loved ones will be able to visit again and until that day it’s our priority to ensure they remain physically and emotionally healthy.”
