What a wonderful night we all enjoyed this week – staff, residents, relatives and friends!
Working with Big Comedy UK, we organised a comedy bingo evening over Zoom where we invited families to join residents and staff to take part in a bit of comedy bingo and it went down brilliantly! Everyone enjoyed seeing each other, it was lovely to see the smiles, hear the laughter and get everyone together during a time where we’re forced to stay apart to protect our health.
Big Comedy UK were phenomenal. They advised on prizes, provided the P.A system, bingo cards, an amazing comedy caller, the traditional bingo machine – everything, even down to the dibbers used to mark the cards!
Two lines were played by residents, staff and their families with the prizes being a tin of celebrations. The full house was a food hamper for each line and family members won, which were delivered to their homes following the night.
Lucy Craig, our managing director, said: “It was great to be involved in our game of comedy bingo over Zoom. Everyone really got into it and enjoyed it, especially our residents! It was lovely to see everyone and get together at this difficult time. We might be physically separate, but technology can unite us whenever we want. Thank you to everyone who took part – such a fabulous evening!”
Following the bingo session, local singer Alfie Dobson sang a few Christmas songs from the car park to round off a very merry night, which was enjoyed by all.
