On Friday 15th and Saturday 16th June, we will be taking part in the Alzheimer’s Society’s Cupcake Day!
For the event, bakers are encouraged to bring in their baked cake delights, and they’ll be put on sale at West Farm (Friday) and Cramlington House (Saturday), to help raise money to help fund medical research in the fight against dementia and also support those living with dementia and their families.
If you don’t have time to make your own cupcakes, it’s ok to cheat (!) and pop to your local supermarket and donate your purchases, all for a good cause. On the day, there will be so many delicious cup cakes to choose from and any amount can be bought, alongside a nice cuppa or two to enjoy them with. We will also be playing ‘guess the cupcake flavour’ which will not only be fun but very tasty too!
All of the proceeds from the sale of the cupcakes will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Society and used to provide emotional support to the relatives of those diagnosed with dementia or help fund care support for those living with the condition, through one of the Society’s volunteer led programmes. Donations will also go towards finding out how dementia develops.
So please come and join us at West Farm this Friday from 11am or Cramlington House on Saturday from 2pm – it’s probably best to stick to a light lunch so that you have room for lots of cakes!
