We were thrilled to welcome Cramlington Parish Church to our car park for a very cosy, Christmassy afternoon of carol singing.
The parish team sang a number of carols to residents, standing in our car park with our residents safely inside. They sang a number of well-known carols including Silent Night, Once in Royal David’s City and a few others too.
Kim Stubbs, our activities manager at Cramlington House, said: “How wonderful of the local church to provide such a fantastic event. It’s been one of the toughest years imaginable and this really got us all feeling Christmassy and the residents loved watching through the window which was open so they could hear the singers too as they were watching them. It means so much to the residents and they were really involved throughout, singing along, loving the carols chosen. It really was fabulous.”
Cramlington Parish Church plays an integral role in the local community in Cramlington. It was great of them to get in touch and offer their carol services to our residents who have really missed their regular social interaction in social clubs, garden centres and of course church too as before the pandemic some of our residents would regularly go to church.
Kim added: “At the end of the service, the parish members sang ‘We wish you a Merry Christmas’ which the residents enthusiastically joined in with – what a pleasure to watch and listen!”
