Love, friendship and happiness was in the air this Valentine’s Day for our Cramlington House residents.
To celebrate the occasion, we organised an afternoon tea session where residents could catch up with their nearest and dearest over a lovely spread and a hot cuppa or two as well!
Kim Stubbs, our wellbeing champion at Cramlington House, said: “Our afternoon tea sessions are always a great hit with residents and relatives alike. They offer such a great opportunity for loved ones who no longer live together or see each other daily to spend some one to one quality time with one another. This afternoon tea was an extra special one because we decorated it all in keeping with a Valentine’s theme and residents and their visitors were suitably impressed!
“On a day that celebrates love, it really was truly lovely to feel the warmth, happiness and positivity across the room. We realise it’s difficult for both residents and their families and friends when they move in with us, but we ensure that close relationships are maintained through occasions like this as well as close ones being welcome to visit residents whenever they like. It’s great to meet the families and friends of our residents too and get to know them.”
Our afternoon tea events have in fact become a key highlight in resident’s social calendars. We’ve had a great response to them and often the entire room is packed out and full of smiles, conversation, laughter and touching moments. The sessions have a long-lasting positive effect on residents who leave their loved ones happy, relaxed and looking forward to seeing them again soon.
