On the day of Her Majesty the Queen’s funeral, our residents and relatives gathered together to share their condolences at a very sad time.
It is important residents are involved in key milestones in history such as the passing of Queen Elizabeth II and that we come together to mourn at a time of great sadness.
Our assistant head chef Ryan Bag and manager Julie designed a bespoke high tea menu for the residents specifically for the day and they watched the funeral from 11am and, at 330pm celebrated the Queen’s life with high tea.
Talking about the day, our manager Julie McMurrough said: “Queen Elizabeth II left behind a long-lasting legacy and it was important that we celebrated her life in a dignified and respectful way. The residents were engaged throughout the funeral and following it we held a reflection session where we talked about her life, her passing and everything she has done for this country. Although it’s been an incredibly sad time, it’s important to mark occasions like this and involve residents too. RIP Your Majesty.”
