West Farm celebrated Mother’s Day by organising an extra special afternoon tea occasion for residents and their family and friends, that took place across the weekend.
It proved to be hugely popular – a sell-out occasion in fact! – and we want to say a massive thank you to the staff members involved in organising the event and ensuring everything ran smoothly.
The Mother’s Day idea was the brainchild of carers Tracey, Laura, Kirsty and Chelsea who are all members of the same family. Tracey is mother to Laura and Kirsty and Chelsea is Kirsty’s daughter and Tracey’s granddaughter.
In keeping with the female generation theme, a beautiful and delicious spread of scones and cakes as well as a choice of tea, coffee, juice or water, was open to all female residents and their relatives, whether they were a mother, aunt, friend, grandma, cousin.
Trish Giles, Manager at West Farm Care Centre, said: “It was wonderful to bring together the females of a family or friendship group on Mother’s Day and arrange an afternoon tea setting between them and their loved ones who live at the home. Everyone involved enjoyed themselves and we felt privileged to honour such inspirational women all in one room.”
“Afternoon tea sessions are a great way of bringing families and friends together in our aim to keep close, loving relationships intact and not affected by a husband, wife, or friend moving into West Farm. There were a lot of smiles and laughter around the room on Mother’s Day and it was heart-warming to see the uplifting effect this had on both residents and visitors.”
Huge appreciation to the White women for their instrumental role in the success of Mother’s Day celebrations – you really helped to bring the women at West Farm together for such an amazing occasion!
