Residents at Cramlington House enjoyed a great day last Friday celebrating Burns Night.
Burns Night is celebrated to honour the life of famous Scottish poet, Robert Burns, who was born on January 25th, 1759. The day also celebrates Scottish culture and staff organised a suitably themed day for all to enjoy.
The highlight of the celebrations was definitely a visit from the highland dancers from the Whistler School of Highland Dance that was established by Laura Grayson, All England Champion and judge on The Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing.
The performance was met with a great response from residents with plenty of interaction, singing and swaying along to the very energetic and lively dancing! What such stamina and skills they have, we were super impressed!
The mood among residents was upbeat and jovial long after the dancers left and a topic of conversation among themselves and also visiting relatives over the weekend!
We would definitely enjoy another visit from the dance school, they were a joy to watch.
