Baking Day at West Farm

At West Farm Care Centre, the delicious smell of chocolate and vanilla recently filled the air as residents enjoyed a baking session, which is definitely a firm favourite! There was a lot of conversation, laughter, and, of course, concentration as the residents personalised their own cupcakes.

Zahra Karimi, our manager at West Farm, said: “It’s amazing to see how such a simple activity can bring so much joy and spark such creativity among our residents. Baking offers more than just a chance to unwind and relax – it’s a chance for our residents to express themselves and engage in a shared activity that enriches their day. Stirring and kneading ingredients that’s involved in baking can also improve fine motor skills which are vital for maintaining independence. It was a very enjoyable afternoon.”

The residents, each with a cupcake canvas, swirled frosting and carefully decorated each cake.  Baking is just one example of how Craig Healthcare provides engaging activities for our residents, ensuring that every day is filled with opportunities to create, connect, and enjoy.
