A resident at West Farm Care Centre has celebrated her 100th birthday with a special party with live music and dancing surrounded by family, friends, fellow residents and staff.
Kitty Bishop, who was born in Sheffield in 1926, marked the milestone with an afternoon of live music, dancing, refreshments and birthday cake and was overjoyed to receive a birthday card from King Charles and Queen Camilla.
Staff at the home worked together to organise the celebration, decorating the living room and ensuring Kitty was at the centre of the day’s festivities.
Home Manager at West Farm Care Centre, Zahra Karimi, said: “It was a pleasure to celebrate Kitty’s 100th birthday with her family and friends. Milestone birthdays are always exciting, and it was lovely to see everyone come together to make the day special.
“She would have been delighted to have received her birthday card from King Charles and as she had always remembered him from when he was just a little boy.
“Kitty is a much-loved member of our home, and we were happy to help her celebrate such a momentous birthday.”
Before retiring, Kitty worked at the Yorkshire Penny Bank and met her husband shortly after before moving to the North East where they raised their four children.
