Last weekend, Cramlington House turned up the heat and the excitement with its very first ‘Pie and Peas’ Horse Race Night, and what a night it was!
Residents, staff, and guests gathered for an evening of hearty food, friendly competition, and plenty of laughter as the bar transformed into a buzzing racecourse.
The evening kicked off with the comforting aroma of freshly baked pies wafting through the air, courtesy of our talented chef. Residents and staff were treated to a choice of succulent steak or tender chicken pies, served piping hot with traditional mushy peas followed by an indulgent sticky toffee pudding that had everyone asking for seconds.
As the races began, teams huddled together placing their bets and cheering on their chosen horses.
To celebrate the spirit of competition, certificates were awarded to each race winner, adding a personal touch and a sense of pride to the evening. But the highlight came at the end of the night, when the team with the most wins was crowned the overall champion and presented with a gleaming trophy.
Beyond the fun and games, the event was a wonderful opportunity to bring the community together. Residents enjoyed spending time with friends and family, while staff joined in the festivities, creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere that truly embodies the spirit of Cramlington House.
The success of our first ‘Pie and Peas’ Horse Race Night has already sparked excitement for future events. With delicious food, engaging entertainment, and a room full of smiles, it’s safe to say this won’t be the last time we saddle up for a night of racing fun.
