We’re bursting with pride at Holywell House Care Centre as we celebrate one of our own. Our well-being and lifestyle coordinator, Janet Sothcott, was recently named as a finalist in the prestigious Stars of Social Care Awards 2025!
Janet was recognised in the Joy Maker category, a fitting tribute to someone who brings light, laughter, and love into the lives of everyone she meets.
The Joy Maker award honours individuals in social care who go above and beyond to lift spirits and create moments of happiness for those in their care. Anyone who knows Janet will agree, this describes her perfectly. Whether she’s leading a singalong, sharing a warm hug, or simply offering a listening ear, Janet has a gift for making people feel seen, valued, and joyful.
Her nomination came as no surprise to residents, families, and colleagues alike. “Janet has a heart of gold,” said, Home Manager Julie McMurrough.
“She doesn’t just care, she connects. She brings joy in the smallest moments, and that’s what makes her so special.”
The awards ceremony, held in London, brought together outstanding individuals from across the country, all celebrated for their dedication to making a difference in social care. While Janet didn’t take home the top prize, being named a finalist among such inspiring peers is a remarkable achievement and one we’re incredibly proud of.
Janet’s recognition reflects the values we hold dear at Holywell House – compassion, community, and the power of joy. Congratulations, Janet, you truly are our shining star!
