Residents at Cramlington House were joined by their loved ones for a relaxed afternoon tea to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
Tables were set with china cups, roses and tiered cake stands filled with sandwiches, scones and sweet treats. The event gave residents a chance to spend time with their partners, family members and friends in a quiet, thoughtful setting.
Kim Stubbs, Wellbeing Champion at Cramlington House, said: “Valentine’s Day can stir up a lot of memories, so we try to make it meaningful without being overwhelming. Inviting loved ones in for tea creates a calm atmosphere and gives residents a chance to connect, share memories, and enjoy some company.”
For residents without visitors, the team made sure no one was left out. Staff took time to sit with people, offer a chat and make the occasion feel special for everyone.
These kinds of social events play an important role in day-to-day life at Cramlington House. They give residents something to look forward to and provide structure and connection, especially for those who might otherwise feel isolated.
Kim added: “It doesn’t have to be a big party. A quiet table, a cup of tea and someone to talk to can make a real difference. It reminds people they’re thought of and cared for.”
The afternoon finished with plenty of smiles, empty cake stands and plans already forming for the next get-together.
