Cramlington House residents recently enjoyed a craft day putting their minds and hands to work to create some lovely suncatchers and handmade picture frames.
The first craft task was to create a suncatcher each and residents did not disappoint, creating some wonderful and very colourful ones!
Everyone had a great time making their own unique creation, which were then hung up next to the windows afterwards, and the residents watched beautiful patterns emerge as the sun shined through the window and reflected off the suncatchers.
As well as suncatchers the residents also spent time making some string craft decorations too. Such activities provide a great way for residents to engage, exercise fine motor skills through the use of colouring pens, glue sticks and string and also relax and enjoy focusing on the task at hand.
Our activities manager Kim Stubbs, who organised the craft session, said: “We had such a fabulous afternoon making some gorgeous creations! The residents were really pleased with their decorations, which they worked hard on making. It was really great to see them all interact and enjoy the task in hand and following the activity they were visibly more relaxed, content and proud of the creations they had crafted.”
