We’ve recently celebrated a very special birthday here at Holywell House. One of our residents turned 100 years old and we ensured we made a very big occasion of it!
Jim Redpath was joined by his close family and friends at Holywell House to enjoy an intimate birthday party complete with buffet food for everyone to enjoy. Our amazing manager, Julie Julie McMurrough, baked Jim’s cake personally and it not only looked absolutely fantastic but tasted delicious too.
Julie said: “Turning 100 years old is a huge milestone in life, and we wanted to celebrate and recognise Jim’s triple-digit age. What made it even more special is that Jim was also our very first resident here at Holywell House, he’s been with us from the very beginning, and it’s been such a joy to care for him and spend time with him every day. I love baking cakes in my spare time, so I just had to make Jim a 100 cake – I’m pleased everyone liked it.”
Local singer Alfie Dobson also entertained guests with some classics from the 1940s, 50s and 60s. Everyone enjoyed a couple of hours of singing, dancing, and enjoying the fabulous cake. It was certainly a day to remember.
